Visiting Research Fellowships, 2027–2028

Join us in Tel Aviv.

We welcome exceptional scholars and PhD candidates in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and related fields to the Blavatnik ICRC.

Applications are welcome from any scientific discipline, background or perspective.

What the fellowship includes

Pursue research in digital trust, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, with dedicated workspace on campus, access to research facilities and mentorship opportunities.

Fieldwork and collaboration

Cyber Week and AI Week

Complimentary admission to both conferences, alongside participation in other academic and industry events.

External funding support

The Center provides administrative support to fellows seeking external funding.

Fellows are featured on ICRC websites and communications.

Planning your stay

Participation Take an active part in collaborative research and contribute to the Center’s activities.
Residency Live in Israel for most of the fellowship and work primarily on the TAU campus. Campus map (PDF).
Language Excellent English communication skills are required.
Employment status Fellowships do not establish an employer–employee relationship with any unit of Tel Aviv University.

The ICRC

The Blavatnik ICRC is an independent, inclusive research center studying cybersecurity and digital trust across intelligent machines, people, processes and technology.

The Center brings together 60+ faculty researchers, has trained 250+ graduate students and has awarded 101 research grants. It hosts the annual international Cyber Week conference, held at TAU since 2011.

Established in 2014 under the leadership of Prof. Maj.-Gen. (ret.) Isaac Ben-Israel, ICRC is Israel’s first and largest cybersecurity research center. Its work spans research, outreach and advisory activities, with dozens of faculty and industry partners at leading research institutions worldwide.

Prepare your application

  1. Research proposal
    Set out your aims, scope, questions and methods, and how the fellowship will help. Describe planned activities, including fieldwork and potential collaborations with Israeli and other researchers and practitioners.
  2. Outcomes and impact
    Describe the academic and practical impact, intended outputs such as publications or policy reports, and your contribution to a diverse, collaborative research environment.
  3. Comprehensive CV
    Include your academic degrees, publications, and industry and policy experience. Highlight the experience that distinguishes your application.
  4. Recommendation letter
    Include a letter from a recognized academic or industry expert.
